How Did You Get Started?

II started going to the gym when I was 17 years old.  Like most young girls, I started with aerobic classes. Once there I saw some women training with weights, they had great muscle definition and I was instantly attracted to that look.  I started to train heavy, bye bye went the aerobics and the rest is history!
Eventually I hired a few different trainers along the way, but have spent the last 5 years training with IFBB Pro Sandra Wickham and Ross Webb. They helped me earn my procard and for that I will be forever be greatful.
Now I'm a gym owner, a personal trainer, IFBB Pro Figure competitor and BioX sponsored Athlete!

What Training Program has Worked Best For You?

  • Monday: Back rear delts, and bi's
  • Tuesday: Leg / Abs
  • Wednesday: Cardio day
  • Thursday: Shoulders /Abs
  • Friday: Chest / Abs
  • Saturday: Rest
  • Sunday: Rest

Note: My workout sessions are high in volume and intensity with very little or no rest in between sets.  Usually either interval training with step ups/cardio inbetween sets, or I will do MET Training for a higher intensity yet.  Just to keep me moving, muscles working and burning body fat.  I have enough muscle, I just need to streamline and sculpt more.

Started in bodybuilding back in 2000.  Placed 3rd in my first show, 2nd at BC provincials and 6th at the Canadian nationals.  Being a tall woman, when figure started up I switched over because I was best suited for it and have never looked back.

What are your future goals in the sports, fitness, or bodybuilding industries?.

Like every pro I'm sure, my goals and dreams are to compete on the Olympia stage one day.  My plans are to do 3 shows this year.  I'm hoping with all the changes that I'm making to my physique will help me move up the ranks and make Canada proud on an international stage.

On the home front, I will continue to host and promote my Northern Classic Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure and Bikini show.  Its a BC Provincial Qualifier and we are currently getting ready for our 9th one this coming June.  I train many competitors for entry, Provincial and National level shows.  That is where my true passion lies and I hope to continue doing that for many years to come.  Its so gratifying to help people get into the best shape of their lives and show it off!

I own the largest fitness facility in my town.  Its called Today's Techniques. We have 18,000 square foot building. The gym keeps me super busy and I love it.  I have fantastic staff, super qualified personal trainers, wonderful members and have a true family atmosphere around there.  I'm living my dream, and consider myself very, very lucky.!

What essential piece of advice would you give to a fellow athlete or competitor?.

Building muscle doesn’t happen over night.  Take your time, eat well and make sure you eat enough to build.  You need to train hard and safe and keep your eyes on the prize!! Never give up!

My favorite quote is: Nothing tastes as good as lean and mean feels!
